Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is facing significant issues on PC, prompting developer Leenzee to issue an official apology. Once seen as one of the most anticipated Soulslikes of 2025, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers reached multiple milestones following its launch on July 23. However, the game appears to have had a rough start on PC in particular.

Within hours of its launch, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers became a hit on Steam, with over 100,000 concurrent players logging in to experience the long-awaited action RPG for the first time. Looking at the initial stats, it seemed the Chinese Soulslike might follow the same successful path as Black Myth: Wukong if it continued on that trajectory.

However, fans quickly noticed that the PC version of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers suffers from major performance issues, to the point that it's unplayable for some. On top of that, the game has been plagued by various glitches, including one that prevented players from claiming Wuchang: Fallen Feathers' pre-order bonuses. To make matters worse, some users encountered anomalies in the game's Steam pricing, which affected their purchases. Acknowledging these issues, developer Leenzee and publisher 505 Games released a joint apology, assuring fans that hotfixes and compensation are on the way.

According to the developer's official statement, all PC players will receive a copy of the game's original soundtrack as compensation. Those who paid for the soundtrack separately will be refunded. Meanwhile, players who purchased the deluxe edition of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will also receive a free costume, though it will be distributed at a later, undisclosed date. It is worth noting that the game's 1.3 patch has already been launched, which promises to fix some of the performance issues on PC and the pre-order bonus glitches.

Despite the hotfix, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is currently being review bombed by Steam players, with its recent review score dropping to "Mostly Negative." Out of over 14,000 new reviewers, nearly 70% have given the game a negative review, which is a significant blow for a newly launched title.

On the bright side, developer Leenzee has assured fans that more fixes are on the way, and support will continue with extensive optimizations. Whether the new Soulslike game will win back its Steam fanbase and recover from the negative reviews remains to be seen. What's certain is that the next few weeks will be incredibly intense for the Chinese team behind Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, marking a make-or-break period.
