World of Warcraft Teases Patch 11.2 Campaign

JusticeGames2025-07-102240

World of Warcraft just released a new teaser trailer for Patch 11.2 that revealed an unlikely alliance between Alleria Windrunner and Xal’atath. Though the Harbinger of the Void has been a major antagonist for the rest of World of Warcraft: The War Within, fans will need to team up with her for the final raid of the expansion.

Recently, World of Warcraft revealed Patch 11.2, Ghosts of K’aresh, the last major update for The War Within. Heroes will travel with Alleria Windrunner and Locus-Walker to the ruins of K’aresh, the homeworld of the Ethereals and Brokers, as they uncover its mysterious history and prevent the Void Lord, Dimensius, from returning to consume what remains of the planet.

Players will need all the help they can get to accomplish this feat, including the aid of a particularly unexpected ally. World of Warcraft recently shared a new cinematic from the upcoming update wherein Alleria confronts Locus-Walker about a mysterious informant that aids the champions of Azeroth in the campaign’s opening chapters. This ally’s arrival reveals her to be none other than Xal’atath, the Harbinger of the Void and main antagonist of the rest of the expansion. Tensions rise, but Locus-Walker is able to convince Alleria to lower her bow and work with Xal’atath to defeat Dimensius, whom both seek to destroy.

An Unlikely Ally Appears in World of Warcraft Patch 11.2 Ghosts of K’aresh

That said, the partnership with Xal’atath is tenuous at best. This alliance of convenience will likely only last as long as Dimensius, the All-Devouring, is alive – and thanks to the encounter journal from the Public Test Realm, players also know that Xal’atath helps fight the Void Lord in World of Warcraft’s new raid, Manaforge Omega. The Harbinger will almost certainly go back to being a villain once Dimensius is defeated, so fans should be sure to enjoy questing alongside her while they can.

Players can start teaming up with Xal’atath once Ghosts of K’aresh arrives in World of Warcraft on August 5. Then, when the Manaforge Omega raid opens a week later on August 12, players will see how the clash against Dimensius goes, and what Xal’atath does once this truce is over.

Until then, gamers might want to check out “The Doom of K’aresh,” a new World of Warcraft novella prequel to Patch 11.2. This stellar short story introduces the history of Locus-Walker, the destruction of K’aresh, and many other topics that will appear in the next update. Interested fans can enjoy reading this free story themselves, or listen to the audio drama version narrated by Locus-Walker voice actor Ray Porter.
