Dead by Daylight Leak Teases Free Rewards and Return of Fan-Favorite Mode

KanoaGames2025-07-092940

A new Dead by Daylight leak suggests Behaviour Interactive is bringing back a popular limited-time modifier to the asymmetrical survival horror, arriving in tandem with a stash of free rewards. Dead by Daylight has been facilitating players’ killing sprees since its launch in 2017, offering one-versus-four matches that allow one player to become an iconic killer from the genre’s history, including Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Leatherface, against four other survivors.

July is shaping up to be a busy month for the survival horror, which is currently running the Twisted Masquerade. Returning for another year, the in-game event offers players the chance to unlock masks, bag event-themed Hooks, Generators and new offerings, and encounter new gameplay interactions. Scheduled to run until July 13, the event has given The Entity’s Realms themed makeovers, alongside the Bloodweb's limited-time event items, offering plenty of goodies for fans to watch out for, despite some Dead by Daylight players accusing the event of nerfing Bloodpoints.

Posted by reliable leaker WazzupTheGreat, a scoop was shared on the LeaksDBD subreddit, suggesting the Chaos Shuffle limited-time modifier would be making a comeback, following Dead by Daylight’s reintroduction of the beloved 2v8 mode late last year. Rumored to be returning on July 16, in tandem with the Waterfront Massacre skins’ release, the Chaos Shuffle will allegidly allow survivors to recover from Dying state to Injured, alongside the ability to recover while crawling, and the devs have made further experimental changes to the modifier, including an increase in maximum recover percentage. Furthermore, three rewards were rumored to be joining the event, including a charm, badge, and banner.

Fellow Redditors were glad to see Behaviour adding experimental changes to a popular modifier, but some were sad to see the Plot Twist perk disabled. Furthermore, players noted the new Dying modifications left them excited to try out this version of the Chaos Shuffle. Adding to the pre-established modes, Dead by Daylight players requested a new mode to be added, which involved survivors stealing killers’ dropped weapons after being subjected to Pallet Stuns.

Staying on the subject of leaks, another rumor teased the asymmetrical game’s crossover with an iconic zombie franchise, which has now been confirmed. Game Rant’s own Jared Stewart wasted no time in creating a Dead by Daylight wishlist for The Walking Dead chapter, highlighting 15 years' worth of content from the AMC television series and Robert Kirkman’s source material that could make its way into the collaboration.
