It’s been a big summer for Stater Bros. Markets with the San Bernardino, Calif.-based grocery retailer opening a new store in Highland, Calif., and renovating another location in Twentynine Palms, Calif.
The grocery chain, which operates 166 stores, as of July 15, according to Scrapehero.com, announced on July 17 that it has completed the renovation of the Twentynine Palms store.
That includes a new, modern façade, new décor, flooring, and checkstands. The Stater Bros. rehab also enables the grocer to offer grab-and-go sushi and other ready-to-eat meals, including burritos, sandwiches, salads, and Cleo & Leo fried chicken.

“We undertook the significant investment to modernize this store so that the area’s residents can enjoy the same amenities and benefits they would receive in our newer stores,” said Stater Bros. CEO Van Helden. “This remodel and the newly installed flag are tangible symbols of our commitment to providing quality groceries for the city of Twentynine Palms and its surrounding communities for years to come.”
In June, Stater Bros. opened the 46,000-square-foot Highland location as the anchor of the Greenspot Crossings shopping center.
The store was built to take the place of a different Highland location, nearly doubling the size of the shuttered supermarket.
