It’s not often you see a rare Aston Martin AMB 001 anywhere, but one is up for auction online right now. You’re forgiven if you never knew such a bike existed, or forgot about it entirely, because there are only 100 out there. But that rarity is driving interest in this one.
Check out BMW radical new concept motorcycle.
Auctioning right now by Sotheby’s Motorsport, a total of 20 bids have been submitted with the high bid sitting at $56,500 at the time this article was written. There’s no way the top bid will stay that low or anywhere near it when the dust settles at the end of the auction on the afternoon of July 16.

After all, when these things were new, they sold for $120,000. Vehicles like this tend to only appreciate in value.
Collaborating with Brough Superior, Aston Martin created its first and only motorcycle about three years ago. It’s a track-only specimen built painstakingly by hand.
With a composition of carbon fiber and billet aluminum, this motorcycle’s dry weight is a mere 396 lbs. But it’s motivated by a turbocharged 997cc V-twin with 180-horsepower on tap, running on E98 race gas.

Most likely, the new owner of this motorcycle won’t actually ride it anywhere. Instead, it will sit on a nice display stand, being regularly detailed but enjoyed as if it were a piece of art. After all, with a price tag that’s easily going to punch into the six digits, this will likely be viewed as an investment only.
While we’d love to see someone who wants to ride this thing hard on the track submit the winning bid, it’s just not likely.
