Ben Shelton Gets His Sister, Emma, the Week Off Work so She Can Stay at Wimbledon

As Ben Shelton continues his Wimbledon run, cheering him on are his parents Bryan and Lisa, his girlfriend Trinity Rodman, and his sister, Emma.

However, after his third round win over Marton Fucsovics on Saturday, Ben told the crowd that his sister Emma would have to go back to the States soon. “I have a great team. My parents are here, my girlfriend’s here. Also, my sister’s here,” he said. “She’s been here for every match that I’ve played at this tournament so far. She’s been the lucky charm. But she has work back in the U.S. starting on Monday.” He continued, “She works for Morgan Stanley, so if any of y’all have some connects and [can] get her a couple extra days off so we can keep this rolling that’d be great.”

Ben’s plea worked: By the end of the day, he posted on his Instagram Story that Emma got the full week off, writing, “Shoutout Morgan Stanley!” According to her LinkedIn, Emma is a Virtual Engagement Associate at Morgan Stanley. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2023.

Ben is one of just two American men remaining in the Wimbledon draw (the other is Taylor Fritz), and according to ESPN, he is “the youngest American man to make three major round-of-16 appearances in one year since Andy Roddick did so in 2004, just after his 22nd birthday.”

He is currently facing Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego for a spot in the quarterfinals. Ben has never made it past the round of 16 at Wimbledon, and is hoping to do so for the first time this year. “I had a lot of fun today. It is always special playing here at Wimbledon,” he said after his third round win. “This is my third time playing on Court 1. It is a special atmosphere. I am trying to make my way to Centre Court, maybe I will get there one day.”
