Of all the film franchises in history there's very few in which the title of the movie is often sung by an extremely famous musician. And yet, since Shirley Bassey belted out"Goldfinger" for the 1964 movie Goldfinger,James Bond films have often had a theme song that directly matches each title. (There are a few exceptions, of course; Rita Coolidge's "All Time High" for Octopussyand Sam Smith's "Writing's on the Wall" for Spectre.) And yet, generally, the title matches the song. In fact, this detail was crucial to a recent Jeopardy! clue, which some folks have deemed super-confusing.

On July 7, in the Final Jeopardy round, in the category of Movie Music, here was the clue: "The last 2 best song Oscar winners whose titles were the same name as the movie they were in had this man in the leading role."

There are two parts to this. First, you have to think about which Best Original Song winners from the Academy Awards are also the titles of the movies those songs come from. Oddly enough, this isn't as common as you might think; it's not like the lead song from The Lion Kingin 1995 was also titled "The Lion King." Similarly, there's not a song called "Chicago" in the movie Chicago. (Even though there really should be, right?)

So, all of this leads us to James Bond movies, in which the song is often the title of the movie. And then, for Bond buffs, this gets easy. The last two Oscar-winning songs with titles that matched their respective films are "Skyfall" (2012), performed by Adele, and "Die Another Day" (2021), performed by Billie Eilish. And who is the actor who starred in both of those? That was the true solution to thisJeopardy! clue: Daniel Craig.

One contestant,Ashley Caval Curto, wrote "Timothée Chalamet," while the other two contestants, Vince Carter and Scott Riccardi, got it right by writing down "Daniel Craig."

However, some viewers thought this was too confusing."I assumed they were asking about the last 2 Best Song winners: 2024 and 2025," complained one viewer, accordingto EW. In fairness, it is kind of an awkwardly phrased question. But then again, both Jeopardy!and the spy world of James Bond, things aren't supposed to be easy.

Jeopardy!airs weeknights at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
