Freaky Friday follows a single mom, Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis), and her edgy teenage daughter (Lindsay Lohan), who somehow switch bodies after receiving cryptic fortunes at a Chinese restaurant. Unable to switch back, they are forced to pretend to be one another until a solution can be found. In the process, they develop a new sense of respect and understanding for each other.
Freakier Friday is a sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist. Anna, who now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter, has to navigate the multiple challenges that come when two families merge. Tess and Anna discover that lightning strikes twice, and they switch bodies again. Curtis and Lohan are reprising their roles and serving as executive producers.
"Take Me Away" was originally released in 2001 by the Australian punk/rock band Lash, but for the Freaky Friday film, Vidal, who played Maddie, covered the song. The tune was used during a performance by the fictional band Pink Slip and is included in the movie's soundtrack.
