Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Release Date Has Potentially Been Leaked

ImogenGames2025-07-198680

The release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 may have just been leaked ahead of an official announcement, as a trusted insider claims the next entry in the series will launch globally on Friday, November 14. If accurate, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 would have the latest release in franchise history, narrowly surpassing 2020’s Black Ops Cold War, which debuted on November 13.

So far, marketing for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been minimal. The highly anticipated next entry in the series was revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase back in June with a mind-bending cinematic trailer, confirming the return of some iconic Black Ops characters, such as David Mason and Raul Menendez. Many speculated that gameplay would be shown in the weeks after, but publisher Activision and development studios Treyarch and Raven have all remained silent on the next Black Ops game ever since.

Thankfully, Activision has now confirmed when fans will get to find out more about the next Call of Duty game, as a full reveal for Black Ops 7 will take place on August 19. There's a strong chance that an official release date is announced next month with a new trailer, but leaker TheGhostOfHope may have just beaten Activision to the punch. In a new post on Twitter, the trusted insider claimed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will launch globally on Friday, November 14. While a November release date is common for the Call of Duty series, many were hoping to see Black Ops 7 follow in the footsteps of Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare II, and many more, and launch in late October.

Black Ops 7 May Have the Latest Release in Call of Duty History

Close

If the supposed release date for Black Ops 7 proves to be true, it will be the latest a Call of Duty game has ever been released, but not by much. Many Call of Duty games have been launched between November 5 and 11, but some entries have also slipped even later than that. Black Ops 2, for example, launched on November 13 in 2012, as did Black Ops Cold War in 2020. As for the earliest a Call of Duty game has ever been released, that award goes to Black Ops 4, which launched on October 12, 2018.

Given that Black Ops 7's marketing is kicking off much later than usual this year, a later release date would be expected. So far, very little is known about the next entry in the series. Activision has confirmed that it will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, set in the year 2035, but gameplay features, multiplayer details, weapons, its integration with Warzone, and much more all remain a mystery.

For now, it's recommended that fans take this information with a pinch of salt. While TheGhostOfHope is an incredibly reliable insider, there is always the chance that things can change behind the scenes. For those looking for more official information, we recommend tuning into Gamescom Opening Night Live, as this is when new details on the next Call of Duty game will be revealed.
