BMW Motorrad Unveils The Radical Titan ConceptBMW Motorrad has pulled the covers off a radically aggressive new concept called the R 1300 R Titan. Thankfully, it not only looks brutish, it has the performance chops to back that up. It looks like a racing motorcycle on purpose because that was the aim from inception.

The team which came up with this concept took the basic elements of the BMW R 1300 R, then twisted them to create more of a sprint racer, including with the foot pegs positioned far back. That’s why the fuel tank and fairing have a more monocoque appearance.
Image via BMWPlus, you’ll notice the rear tire is really out there, keeping the rider’s weight over the front tire, hopefully so it stays planted on the pavement as much as possible. That’s made possible by a purpose-built Wilbers chassis that features a long swing arm in the rear.
While there are styling flairs like the air duct panel and graphics, most everything about the bike has been minimized and simplified. The result is something which looks undeniably athletic, mean, and ready to pounce.
Of course, at the heart of this motorcycle is a 1300cc boxer engine that’s ready to roast rubber. Bolted up to the powerplant is a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system with dual outlets producing just the right note to make your heart sing.
Image via BMWBut one of the most striking details in the nitrous oxide bottle mounted in the rear between the exhaust silencers. All the rider has to do is touch a button and extra power is squeezed out of the engine instantaneously.
To say this is a radical concept is understating things. BMW Motorrad has really stirred up some excitement with the R 1300 R Titan. We don’t know if there are plans to bring something like this to production, but with enough interest expressed by enthusiasts, we supposed it’s possible.
